WFC Is Coming
Well, it’s the week of the World Fantasy Convention here in San Diego, and I’m working on my last minute preparations. Shadowkind is getting a final polish in case someone asks me to send them something there will be little delay (I’m not being so bold as to actually carry it around. There’s such thing as appearing to be too eager), not to mention its pitches and synopses.
I’m also going to be participating with a panel–Here There Be Krakens: Monsters of the Deep–with David Drake, Laura Anne Gilman, Alice Henderson, and Samantha Henderson. I want to spend a little bit of time before hand doing some research. It should be a lively discussion about what might be hidden out there, both in reality and in our imaginations.
This will by my first World Fantasy Convention, and with luck, it won’t be my last. I don’t know if I’ll be making it to Toronto next year. With the horror stories I hear about Canadian border crossings, I’m kind of afraid to try. But I might try World Horror instead. I can imagine that it’s a completely different kettle of fish.
